Position Summary:

Reporting to Product Line Manager, this position supports a global product line through tactical, application, and technical support. The role includes product management of a single product line (identify product line) with a regional/ local focus (identify market). The role seeks to increase product line revenues and margin dollars by working collaboratively with all departments. The role will gain Product Management skills such as business development, commercial, and strategy development by working within the Product Line team (identify the product line team).

Primary/Essential Responsibilities:

• Support creation of product line’s strategic direction and global product portfolio
• Support the definition of the strategic direction of the portfolio
• Support the roadmap planning for their product lines
• Support the idea generation through voice of the customer, analysis of market trends, and identification and profiling of competitor’s products and activities within their product line
• Participate and drive projects through New Product Development (NPD) and Change Management (CMR) processes
• Support NPD project and gate process
• Support CMR projects to add necessary product enhancements to maintain growth
• Support Marketing Communications team to develop sales tools, training, and materials
• Lead the monitoring and track of new product launches
• Lead development and refinement of departmental processes
• Support G&W Electric’s Base Business
• Focus on a identify product line and market markets
• Support forecast development for the product line by working with sales teams and sales enablement
• Support Product Manager as a technical resource for sales teams working customer applications and opportunities
• Lead Product Management support for quotation opportunities
• Develop and participate in large bid strategy and approvals
• Participate in tradeshow and sales call support as needed
• Lead cross-functional work to manage engineering, supply chain, quality, and operations issues
• Support Product Manager in working with sales team and sales enablement to develop forecasts for the product line
• Support monitoring win/loss data and support pricing adjustments to maintain competitiveness
• Support product lifecycle management

Required Qualifications:

• BSEE or BSME
• 2 years’ experience in a sales, application, or product engineering role preferred
• Strong technical aptitude and comfortable with engineered to order products
• Able to handle multiple tasks efficiently
• Effective presentation skills to both internal and external customers
• Good communication skills both written and oral
• Driven to see their product line grow
• Good problem-solving skills
• Able to work effectively within a team cross functionally
• Good listener and adapts to their audience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in Power Distribution segment of the electrical industry

Physical Demands / Working Conditions:

General Office Environment, PC use

Light Lifting (occasional 25 lbs or less)
