The Plant IT Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring smooth and reliable IT operations for local plant operations. This individual is responsible for providing hands-on support for desktop systems, printers, and other end-user technologies, as well as serving as the on-site “hands and feet” for infrastructure support, including servers and network switches. Acting as the primary liaison between the local business and the central IT team, the Plant IT Coordinator ensures that all local IT needs are communicated, prioritized, and resolved efficiently, while maintaining alignment with corporate IT standards and policies.

  1. End-User Support
    • Provide timely desktop support, including troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues.
    • Configure, deploy, and maintain end-user devices, including desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.

    • Serve as the primary point of contact between the plant operations and the central IT team for all local IT needs.
  4. Incident Management and Documentation
    • Log and manage IT incidents and service requests through the company’s ticketing system.
    • Ensure compliance with IT policies, procedures, and security standards.
  5. Project and Process Support
    • Assist with local implementation of IT projects, including system upgrades, rollouts, and migrations.
    • Provide training and guidance to plant staff on IT processes, tools, and best practices.

Requirements

  • bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
    • 2+ years of experience in IT support, including desktop and infrastructure support.
    • Proficiency in Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office applications, and basic networking concepts.
    • Hands-on experience with hardware troubleshooting, including desktops, printers, and network devices.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
    • Familiarity with IT ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow) is a plus.
    • Basic knowledge of IT security and compliance best practices.
    • Knowledge of business applications and business processes, with JD Edwards experience preferred.
