Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Coordinator

Reporting to the Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager, this position will be responsible for coordinating Health, Safety & Environmental programs to ensure compliance with the applicable laws and regulations.

As a Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Coordinator you will:

  • Support the maintenance and implementation of safety and environmental programs, compliance plans, and initiatives.
  • Assist in conducting risk analysis, hazard analysis, and physical demand analysis.
  • Maintain all training records
  • Schedule HSE related meetings and training as required.
  • Responsible for monitoring adherence to safety programs by employees, visitors, and contractors.
  • Assist in planning, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating safety programs.
  • Conduct safety training/talks, safety observations, inspections, investigations, and audits, and develop appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
  • Assist in developing policies, processes, programs, standards, and safe work practices and updating manuals, and training materials.
  • Coach and mentor employees on safety practices.
  • Track all corrective and preventive actions and ensure that they are completed promptly.
  • Maintain procedure, work instructions, and procedures in ETQ, making updates from mark ups as required
  • Assist in meeting the requirements of the ISO 14001 and implementation of ISO 45001.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Bachelor’s degree and certificate/Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • 1-3 years of experience in occupational health and safety in an industrial establishment, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with employees by fostering trust, respect, and open communication
  • Demonstrates self-management skills, including reliability, accountability and the ability to stay motivated and productive in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to pivot when necessary
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to influence
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the OHSA
  • Proficiency with database applications and administration systems, specifically Microsoft Office, including intermediate Excel features (Lookups, Pivot)

What we offer you:

Typical pay is $47,000 – 64,000 annually.

Please note the pay information shown above is a general guideline. Pay is based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications.

This position is eligible for participation in our quarterly incentive pay program
