Production Support Electrical Engineer
As a Production Support Engineer at G&W Electric, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our switchgear designs. As part of the Production Engineering team, you will be able to leverage your technical skillset to support all switchgear products throughout the entire organization. You will be responsible for investigating and resolving technical issues that may arise during production. When not supporting other internal departments, you will leverage your product knowledge in the design of custom engineered products as part of our design team. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining the highest quality standards and ensuring our products meet or exceed customer expectations.
As a Production Support Electrical Engineer you will:
- Troubleshooting complex shop problems at the source and developing solutions to design and manufacturing related issues to switchgear designs
- Support and thought partner with all parts of Engineering and manufacturing to determine process improvement initiatives
- Visualize, articulate, and solve problems; research and implement solutions
- Work on multiple projects at once including testing, modifying, compiling, and executing concepts of each project
- Manage key performance indicators
- Conduct thorough root cause analysis to identify the underlying reasons for technical problems. Collect and analyze data to assist in making effective business decisions
- Develop and implement effective solutions to address technical issues, ensuring minimal impact on production schedules
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to verify that all products meet quality and safety standards
- Maintain detailed records of technical issues, investigations, and resolutions for future reference and continuous improvement
- Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance the efficiency and reliability of production
- Facilitate support from Engineering, Quality, Applications, and Supply Chain for Manufacturing as needed during build process to minimize/eliminate delays in delivery to the customer
- Support the custom design of G&W Products to internal engineering standards and best practices within customer lead time and quality expectations
- Work cross-functionally to support and provide technical aptitude for company and departmental projects as needed (e.g. Product Development, Aftermarket Support, Application Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing)
- Ensure all outgoing and incoming communications are accurate, timely and appropriately distributed
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology or Relevant Discipline
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Proactive and detail-oriented approach to work
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Ideally you will:
- Have experience in electrical equipment manufacturing or related industries
- Possess knowledge of industry standards and regulations
- Have Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing principles
- Have CAD and CAM software experience
- Have schematics design experience
- Possess Change Management Experience
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Know Root Cause Analysis / Problem-Solving strategies
- Have ISO Certified Manufacturing Environment Experience
What we offer you:
Typical pay is $62,000 – 80,500 annually.

This position is eligible for participation in our Quarterly Incentive Pay Program
